LAS VEGAS—New York Jets
quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who recently tore his Achilles tendon, has set his sights on returning to the gridiron by mid-December, according to NBC's Melissa Stark.
Rodgers, known for his nimble footwork and passing prowess, suffered the injury in the season opener against the Buffalo Bills. Initially thought to be sidelined for the entire season, Rodgers has defied expectations with his speedy recovery.
"I know it sounds crazy, but with a good surgery and a good patient, it's possible," Rodgers reportedly told Stark during the Jets' game against the Las Vegas Raiders.
However, Rodgers, who was spotted on the sidelines during the game, admitted to Stark that he "just wasn't feeling it" about throwing passes during pregame warmups.
Despite this temporary setback, Rodgers remains optimistic about his return. He has been diligently working on a weight-limiting treadmill, jogging at half his body weight. His goal for this week is to increase it to 75%.
"If the doctors clear him, we'll clear him," said Jets coach Robert Saleh after the team's 16-12 loss to the Raiders.
With Rodgers' determination and positive attitude, it seems the Jets may be getting their star quarterback back sooner than anticipated. So, hold onto your helmets, Jets fans, because the return of the "Rodgers Renaissance" is just around the corner.
